Marcus Garvey Park, Richard Rodgers Amphitheater

The parks amphitheatre has been a popular destination in the park for almost 40 years but was limited in terms of its performance capabilities, seating, sightlines, and general state of over-use. The new design brings the audience closer to the performers and improves the visibility of the action on stage. Other improvements include a roof canopy which provides shade to park-goers, improved seating, and performer support spaces. The amphitheatre now seats 1,600.
